Along with the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, names of telecom companies like Jio, Airtel, Vi and BSNL are also visible in the viral post. After the post claimed free recharge, a large number of people are sharing it on social media. However, the truth of this viral claim has come to light and it has been declared fake.

Investigation revealed that no such scheme has been started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi or the Government of India, under which three months of free recharge is being given to all Indian mobile users. Many times a website or link is also shared along with the fake post. After clicking on that link, the user may be asked for mobile number, OTP, banking information or other personal information. Such links can also be a medium for cyber fraud. Therefore, you should avoid clicking on any unknown link or sharing your personal information.

When news to any government scheme appears on social media, it is important to first get its official confirmation. Information about any scheme to the Prime Minister or the Central Government can be seen on the government website and official social media accounts. Apart from this, viral claims are also investigated by PIB Fact Check. In this case too, PIB Fact Check has made it clear that there is no such government scheme to provide three months of free recharge to all Indian mobile users.
