The Himachal Pradesh government has disposed of over 681,000 revenue- cases through Revenue Lok Adalats and Special Revenue Lok Adalats across the state.

Since October 2023, Revenue Lok Adalats have been organized at Tehsil and Sub Tehsil headquarters on the last two days of every month to resolve pending revenue cases. From January 2026, Special Revenue Lok Adalats have been conducted three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday—to expedite the settlement of partition and revenue correction cases.

More than 544,000 mutation cases, 47,333 partition cases and 63,000 demarcation cases have been addressed during these sessions, along with 26,288 corrections made to revenue records.

The initiative has received an overwhelmingly positive response from the public, offering a convenient and effective platform for the swift resolution of pending land and revenue issues. This has significantly reduced case backlogs while providing timely relief without requiring repeated visits to revenue offices.

The program has especially benefited residents of rural and remote areas who previously had to spend considerable time and money to settle land- matters.

By facilitating timely case resolution, these Lok Adalats have helped landowners save both time and money. The growing public confidence in this citizen-centric approach reflects its success.

In addition, the Revenue Lok Adalats have improved the accuracy and quality of revenue records by enabling necessary corrections and facilitating dispute settlement, thereby enhancing transparency and accountability in the revenue administration.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the government remains committed to transparent, responsive and hassle-free governance. He emphasized that resolving revenue matters promptly is a priority due to their direct impact on families and landowners. He described the disposal of a large number of cases through Lok Adalats as evidence of the government’s determination to reduce pendency and provide citizen convenience.

The Chief Minister added that the government will continue implementing reforms and strengthening mechanisms to make public services faster, simpler and more accessible. He said the objective is to minimize the need for frequent visits to government offices and reduce the expenses incurred by citizens when resolving legitimate issues.

Such initiatives are expected to further improve ease of living, transparency and people-centric governance across Himachal Pradesh.
