Saturday night in Florida brought plenty of star power as Inter Miami and Atlanta United played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

With quality all over the pitch, it was Lionel Messi and Casemiro who combined to produce the opening goal. It may well be a partnership Inter Miami supporters will hope to see more of for the Herons.

Atlanta responded through Miguel Almiron, with the visiting captain finishing at the back post after goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair spilled the ball.

Miami then went in front once more thanks to a moment that evoked the old Luis Suarez, only this time the striker was in pink rather than the colours he once wore at Barcelona.

The Canada international goalkeeper later made amends for his earlier error by saving what could have been an equalising penalty from Almiron.

But St. Clair was unable to repeat those heroics when Atlanta were awarded a second penalty, and Breel Embolo kept his composure to score on his debut.

Messi then had not one but two late chances to snatch all three points, but could not convert either of them.

The draw means Miami have now dropped points for the 11th time this season and sit 10 points behind the leaders in the Eastern Conference, while Atlanta remain second from bottom.
