Madhya Pradesh:- A serious matter regarding health system has come to light in Sanjay Gandhi Hospital of Rewa. A patient admitted for treatment here was reportedly declared dead. The family members started preparing for the last rites and even booked a vehicle to take the body home.

Meanwhile, the patient was found breathing, after which there was a panic in the hospital and he was shifted again for treatment.
Girja Prasad had reached the hospital in critical condition.
According to the information, Girja Prasad, resident of Sidhi, was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in critical condition. It is being told that he had reached the hospital for treatment a day before the incident. It is alleged that after investigation he was declared dead in the hospital. After this, the family started preparing to take the dead body home and also booked a hearse for this. Meanwhile, when the family members held the patient's hand, they felt him breathing. After this he immediately informed the hospital staff and doctors about this. As soon as information was received that the patient was alive, there was chaos in the hospital.

According to the family members, preparations were being completed to take the patient home after considering him dead. But at the last moment he was found breathing. After this the hospital management shifted the patient again for treatment. At present, Girja Prasad's condition is said to be critical and his treatment is going on under the supervision of doctors. The case has also raised questions on the process of examining patients and declaring death in the hospital. It is especially important to know what medical standards were followed before declaring the patient dead.
First year student had done the test: HOD
Dr. PK Baghel, HOD of the Medicine Department, said that a first year student had declared the patient dead after examining him. Later, information about the patient being alive came to light. Describing it as a very rare condition, Dr. Baghel has linked it to Lazarus Syndrome in the medical literature. However, in this case, on what basis the patient was declared dead and at what level of lapses occurred during the investigation, it remains to be clear. After the incident, questions are being raised on the functioning of the hospital management.

Patient's condition serious, need for investigation
At present, Girja Prasad's treatment is going on and his condition is said to be critical. The hospital management has not yet given a detailed official statement on the matter. In such a situation, only after investigation of the entire incident will it be clear what mistake was made at the medical level in declaring the patient dead and who is responsible for it.
