The £100 million man has now earned legendary status in north London.

Declan Rice has been celebrated with a mural marking his Arsenal journey so far.

The England international has established himself as a club icon since completing his £100 million switch from West Ham in 2023.

Last season, he won the Premier League title for the first time in his career, playing a major role as the Gunners secured their first English top-flight crown in 22 years.

The midfielder remains a vital part of Mikel Arteta’s engine room at the Emirates Stadium, cementing his place as one of the first names on the Spaniard’s teamsheet.

And now, after making 161 appearances in all competitions for the north London side, he has quite literally been written into the club’s history.

Rice has been given a mural on Holloway Road, only a short distance from Arsenal’s home ground, and it has been created by Mural Republic.

The artwork will also mark the Topps Flagship Premier League card collection, which includes Rice’s ‘Gold Lion’ card.

The 27-year-old will be aiming to get the better of his boyhood club Chelsea this afternoon, with Xabi Alonso’s team making the trip across London.

The Blues have won both of their opening matches under the Spaniard, defeating Fulham 3-2 and Brighton and Hove Albion 5-2 in their first two fixtures of the new season.

A revamped front three of Joao Pedro, Cole Palmer and £117 million summer signing Morgan Rogers is expected to pose a threat to Rice and Arsenal, though the champions are renowned for their watertight defence. They are still without William Saliba, who is out with a back injury that he carried through last season.
