Fiorentina have officially dismissed head coach Fabio Grosso after the team lost its first three Serie A matches of the season, with reports also suggesting friction with director Fabio Paratici.

La Viola made a very poor start to the campaign, suffering a 4-0 defeat to Roma, then a 3-0 home loss to newly promoted Frosinone, followed by a 2-1 home defeat against Torino on Saturday.

That result appears to have been the breaking point, though there were also reports that tensions had been rising between director Paratici and the coach.

Grosso had only taken charge in the summer after an impressive couple of seasons with Sassuolo, and the club backed him with significant spending in the transfer market.

However, apart from a 4-1 Coppa Italia win over Benevento, the overall results were extremely poor, with three defeats from three in Serie A.

This is the second consecutive season in which the Tuscan side have sacked their coach within the opening weeks of the campaign, after Stefano Pioli was also removed in November 2025 following 14 competitive matches.

It remains unclear who will come in as Grosso’s replacement, but the club are now looking for a new coach ahead of the trip to Venezia on Friday, September 11.
