During the farewell ceremony of the Indian team for the 2026 Asian Games, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla made an important statement regarding the accommodation arrangements of the Indian cricket team. Speaking to a news agency, Shukla said that the Indian cricketers will stay in the residences decided by the organizers. BCCI and the players are satisfied with the existing facilities and hence, no separate hotel will be arranged.
He further said, 'wherever the organizers have provided accommodation for the players, the players will stay there. We are constantly monitoring which hotels the players will stay in. They are not fine star hotels, but they are good hotels. We have seen photos and videos of the hotels, so I believe they will be comfortable. The players will be staying at this hotel, as they had the option of staying in Osaka or Tokyo, which are far away places.' The BCCI vice-president further said, 'Indian cricketers will not stay in the sharing room; They will stay in separate rooms.'
The Indian men's cricket team will leave for Tokyo on September 20 for the 2026 Asian Games, where a historic T20 international will be played between India and Japan on September 22. After this, the Shreyas Iyer-led Indian team will play their first match at the Asian Games on September 28, which will be a quarter-final match.
