The number of tea consumers in India is very high. In most homes, tea is made two or more times a day, and the leaves left after the tea is made are often thrown away. But if you plant plants in your home, these leftover tea leaves can be reused. According to gardening expert Tarun Chopra, used tea leaves can be used as fertilizer for plants after preparing them properly. However, it is necessary to clean and dry it thoroughly before putting it directly into the potting soil.
After making tea, remove the remaining leaves in a strainer. Wash them thoroughly with running water to remove residues like milk, sugar and ginger. After this, dry the cleaned tea leaves in strong sunlight for about one to two days. Use them on plants only after the leaves are completely dry. They can also be dried in a safe manner in rainy or less sunny weather.
First method: Dig the soil of the pot 10 to 12 inches slightly and add about one teaspoon of dry tea leaves in it. Keep in mind to put it at a short distance from the root of the plant. Then cover it with soil and water it lightly.
Second way: Soak one teaspoon of dry tea leaves in about one liter of water overnight. Filter it the next day and use the prepared water on the plants.
There is no need to use tea leaf compost daily. According to experts, it is better to use it in limited quantities and with intervals. About once in 45 days It can be used.
It can be used in plants like rose, tomato, hibiscus, marigold and jasmine. However, adding too much of any home fertilizer can harm the plants, so it is important to keep the quantity in mind.
