Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha's name has now appeared in the voter list of Delhi. On September 3, Raghav Chadha had alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab government had cut off his votes to take revenge from him. Now in the clarification issued by the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, it has been said that Raghav Chadha had applied on August 26 itself to add his name to the voters' list in Delhi. Now AAP has raised questions on this. AAP says there is no evidence of Raghav Chadha applying.
Now Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and AAP are face to face on this issue. BJP is alleging that Raghav Chadha's name was removed deliberately. At the same time, AAP says that Raghav Chaddha's name has been added in Delhi wrongly and without applying.
A statement was issued by the office of the Chief Election Commissioner of Delhi on 8 September. It was told that anyone's name is added only after filling Form 6, 7 or 8. In this it was also told that the draft list published on August 31 has been prepared only after the enumeration form was filled by the voters and it was approved by the BLO.
Raising questions on this, AAP leader Anurag Dhanda had written, 'There is no evidence of Raghav Chadha filling Form 6 on the Election Commission's website or in public records. It is mandatory that all applications made through Form 6 are published in Form 9 and objections are invited. I challenge CEO Delhi and Election Commission to make public the date of filing Form 6 and the records of Raghav Chadha. Let people see how you add names to the voter list through the backdoor. What is there to hide?'
Now CEO Delhi has issued a new clarification on this and given the date of Raghav Chadha's application. It is told that Raghav Chadha had applied through Form 6 on August 26 to include his name in the voter list in Rajinder Nagar Assembly. According to the Election Commission, after the mandatory deadline of 7 days had passed, ERO approved it on September 2, following the procedure laid down by the Election Commission.
In this way, Raghav Chadha's name is currently present in the draft list of Delhi and now formal objection can be lodged on it. The final list of Delhi is to be released on 4 November 2026. On the other hand, Raghav Chadha's name has been removed from the draft list of Punjab and he had also raised many questions on AAP regarding this.
