The Asian Games 2026 is scheduled to begin from September 19. India's men's and women's cricket teams will also participate in this competition. This will be the second time that Indian cricket teams will participate in the Asian Games. Earlier, Indian cricket teams had participated in the 2023 Hangzhou Games and won the gold medal.

The women's team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, won the gold by defeating Sri Lanka in the final. The men's team final was against Afghanistan, which was washed out in rain. After this, Team India was given gold on the basis of better seeding. Then young opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored the most runs for the team. He had scored 100 runs in 2 innings.

The century came from Yashasvi's bat.

Left-handed opener Yashasvi scored 100 runs in 49 balls in the quarter-final match against Nepal, which included 8 fours and 7 sixes. After this he could not even open his account in the semi-final against Bangladesh. In the semi-final match, Team India was chasing the target of only 97 runs, which it achieved in just 9.2 overs with the help of aggressive innings of captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (40 not out in 26 balls) and Tilak Verma (55 not out in 26 balls).

Rituraj had earlier scored 25 runs against Nepal. In this way his total in the tournament was 65 runs. He is second in the list of Indian batsmen who have scored the most runs in the Asian Games.
