Leeds United's festive Premier League schedule has now been confirmed, with four matches chosen for live television coverage between Boxing Day and early January. The announcement has come more than a month earlier than it did last year.

As per Leeds Live, Manchester United and the Football Supporters' Association were understood to have pushed for an earlier announcement.

Leeds will travel to Aston Villa on Boxing Day, with the match at Villa Park set for a 12.30pm kick-off and live coverage on TNT Sports.

Daniel Farke's team will then make the trip to newly promoted Hull City on Tuesday, 29 December, for a 7.30pm start, with that game to be shown live on Sky Sports.

They will then welcome Everton on New Year's Day, with the Friday fixture kicking off at 8pm and also being broadcast live on Sky Sports.

That will be followed by a home meeting with Manchester City at Elland Road on Wednesday, 6 January. Kick-off for that match is scheduled for 8.15pm, with Sky Sports again providing live coverage.

There was controversy last season when the only Boxing Day fixture played was the 8pm meeting between Manchester United and Newcastle United. The Premier League later explained that the expansion of European competitions and an updated domestic calendar, including changes to the FA Cup, had cut the number of available weekends to 33 even though the league still has to stage 380 matches. It also gave assurances that the following season would include more Boxing Day fixtures, with the date falling on a Saturday.
