Berlin received a 78% approval rating for its nightlife among local respondents, while all members of the expert panel rated the city’s nightlife positively.
Despite Berlin’s reputation for underground raves and hard-to-access clubs, 62% of local respondents said casual bars and pubs were the city’s best after-hours offering.

Alongside established venues such as Berghain and Tresor, Berlin’s nightlife includes mobile collectives and pop-up parties.
New York City took third place, with Time Out highlighting its ever-evolving nightlife scene, which offers everything from casual wine bars to late-night warehouse raves.
Melbourne in Australia and São Paulo in Brazil rounded out the top five.
