Enzo Maresca has given an update on Nico O’Reilly ahead of this weekend’s Manchester derby.

Maresca has confirmed that Nico O’Reilly is “100% available” for the Manchester derby after he was taken off during Premier League action against Coventry last weekend.

Manchester City won that match 1-0, but O’Reilly was then missing for their next game, the Champions League away fixture at Porto on Tuesday.

Before this weekend’s Manchester derby, Maresca’s side are set to have O’Reilly back in action, with the City manager confirming the Englishman is fit again.

New signing Iliman Ndiaye was also withdrawn against Coventry, but he recovered in time to feature in Manchester City’s 2-0 midweek win in Europe.

Jeremy Doku is still out after suffering an injury against Arsenal in pre-season, when Manchester City were beaten 3-0 in the Community Shield.

The Belgian, who was among City’s standout performers during the Premier League run-in last season, picked up a calf problem against the Gunners and will not be available for selection against Manchester United.

“Jeremy, I think he needs some more days,” Maresca confirmed, before providing a positive update on O’Reilly’s return.

“Nico’s 100% available,” the City boss said plainly. With most of his squad fit to play, he then shifted focus to the Manchester derby.

“It is very important for different reasons. We know how important a derby is, especially here,” he said.

“A special game. The most important thing we can do is try to be ourselves, and then we see the final result.”

Manchester City will travel to Old Trafford this weekend for the derby against Manchester United.
