New Delhi : Supriya's hat-trick along with the brilliant performance of Madhu and Sukhveer Kaur helped India defeat South Korea 5-1 in the semi-finals of the AHF Junior Women's Asia Cup. The Indian team completely dominated South Korea in the semi-final match. This is the reason why Team India had a 3-0 lead in the first half. However, South Korea tried to make a comeback in the second half and even scored a goal in the third quarter, but it was not enough to avoid defeat.
In the fourth quarter of the game, the South Korean team played aggressively and continuously attacked the Indian goalpost, but could not penetrate the strong Indian defense. During this, India scored another goal from a brilliant penalty corner 3 minutes before the end of the game. In this way, the Indian team registered a strong 5-1 victory and confirmed its place in the finals. In the final, the Indian team will face the winner of Semi-Final-2. The second semi-final will be played between China and Japan.
Supriya scored a hat-trick for the Indian team
In the semi-final match against South Korea, Supriya played brilliantly and scored a hat-trick for the Indian team. Supriya scored a goal for India in the 17th minute of the match. Before that, Madhu Sidhar had given Team India a 1-0 lead by scoring a goal in the 13th minute. Supriya opened her account just 4 minutes after taking the lead. Along with Madhu and Supriya, Sukhveer Kaur also showed strong performance and scored the third goal for Team India in the 21st minute. In this way the Indian team was successful in taking a lead of 3-0 till the first half of the game.
Indian team remained dominant in the second half also
After the first half, the Indian team maintained its dominance in the second half as well and Supriya increased the lead to 4-1 by scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. However, after this, Jeong Yuri from South Korea scored the first goal for his team in the 41st minute. But, his goal merely reduced the margin of defeat. After this, in the 56th minute of the last quarter of the game, Supriya again converted the penalty corner into a goal, increasing India's lead to 5-1 and ensuring the victory of Team India.
