New Delhi: Hartalika Teej is one of the major fasts of Hindu religion. This festival is considered dedicated to Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. According to the Hindu calendar, the fast of Hartalika Teej will be observed this year on Monday, 14 September 2026. Tritiya Tithi will start at 7:08 am on September 13 and end at 7:06 am on September 14. According to the rules of Udaya Tithi, the fast will be observed on 14th September only.
The auspicious time of worship on the day of Hartalika Teej is said to be from 6:05 am to 7:06 am. During this time, worshiping Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati is considered auspicious.
This time, many auspicious coincidences are being said on Hartalika Teej. There will be a coincidence of Chitra Nakshatra and Brahma Yoga on 14th September. Along with this, Ganesh Chaturthi is also coinciding. In such a situation, worship of Lord Ganesha along with Shiva and Parvati is also considered to have special significance.
Women observing fast should wear clean clothes after taking bath in the morning and clean the place of worship. After this, spread a cloth on the post and install the idols of Lord Shiva, Mother Parvati and Ganesh ji with clay.
First of all worship Lord Ganesha and offer Durva to him. After this, offer makeup material to Mother Parvati and Belpatra to Lord Shiva. After offering fruits, sweets, clothes and other worship material, listen or read the story of Hartalika Teej. Finally, perform aarti of Lord Ganesha and then Shiva-Parvati.
