Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reduced key duties on mobile phones, chargers and some accessories as part of the Union Budget 2024. This reduction is an important requirement in electronics manufacturing.

Currently, imported smartphones sold in India are subject to 18% GST and 22% duty (20% basic duty and 2% surcharge). The 10% surcharge on the basic duty will remain in effect.

After the reduction, the total tariff rate is now 16.5% (15% basic duty and 1.5% surcharge). Only 18% GST applies to phones made in India. Apple imports its iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, while the rest of the smartphones are manufactured in India.

Following the announcement, Apple slashed iPhone prices in India. The non-Pro base models have received a price cut of nearly Rs 300, but the top-end Pro models are priced at just Rs 6,000. Here are the new iPhone prices published at the Apple Store in India.

How much do Apple iPhones cost now?

Apple has already updated its website with new iPhone prices. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models are available at a discount of up to Rs 6,000. In comparison, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are less discounted.

Also, the affordable iPhone SE has received a discount of Rs 2,300 and is now available at Rs 47,600 (from Rs 49,900). Similarly, iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 models are priced at Rs 59,600 and Rs 69,600 respectively.
