Maharishi Supach Sudarshan: 'There are thousands of Shivalingas and hundreds of Shaligrams. Twelve crore brahmins, one Sudarshan Vaishnava.
India is the Tapavan of saints and sages. This earth is blessed with the nectar-like words and extraordinary talent of sages like Narad, Vedvyas, Valmiki, Tulsidas, Ravidas, Nanak, Sukhdev etc. Maharishi Supancha Sudarshan Ji was the Vaishnav devotee of Mahabharata era, the best true Krishna devotee, literature lover, an incarnation of a wise saint in Dwapar era 3290 BC.

He was a brilliant, knowledgeable, and blessed saint of his time with knowledge of Yoga and Brahman. He was born in a well-off family in Kashinagar on Falgun Krishna Trayodashi. He was educated under the guidance of Saint Shri Karunamay Acharya Ji. His father's name was Narhari and mother's name was Lakshmi Devi. His real name was Shri Sudarshan Ji. He was engrossed in devotion and search for truth since childhood. That is why it is said that-
That beautiful saint who lived in the austerity ground of Valmiki and Vyas. Saint Sudarshan Ratan Amar who was born in Dwapar era.
Those who never deviate even a bit from their devotional feelings and duties. Those who memorize the basic mantra of Guru Diksha throughout their lives.
Crores of people have faith in Maharishi Sudarshan Ji not only in Uttar Pradesh but also in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab etc. People call him by different names like Dhanuk, Dhanak, Dhirkar, Dom, Dumar, Dhankad, Hela, Bahelia, Mahar, Juatha, Pijarha, Vajgi etc. Similarly, the first guru of Dhanuk society Maharishi Saint Sudarshan Ji is also known by names like Supanch Supa, Sapoot Swapanth etc.
After the victory of the Pandavas in the Mahabharata war, when the Pandavas started ruling their kingdom, Maharaja Yudhishthira started seeing many types of horrifying dreams. King Yudhishthira became very worried and he asked Lord Krishna the reason for these. Shri Krishna said to King Yudhishthira, “O Yudhishthira! You have committed a great sin. If you want to get rid of it, then think of performing a great yagya and invite all the sages and saints for a meal. If your yagya is successful, then all the sins will end and your heart will become calm automatically. To confirm whether the yagya is complete or not, hang an aerial bell. When the bell starts ringing on its own, then understand that the yagya is complete. King Yudhishthira performed the yagya and invited all the sages and saints except Maharishi Sudarshan.
The yagya started. Food was served to thousands of invited sages and saints. When the celestial bell did not ring, Yudhishthira got worried. When he asked the reason for this from Lord Krishna again, he said, O Yudhishthira! You have not invited my true devotee Supanch Sudarshan ji, that is why this celestial bell did not ring. When 25 lakh Brahmins and 80 thousand sages and saints, Acharyas were having food, at that time neither anyone was without pride, nor was there any true devotee and nor was there any true ascetic. Therefore this yagya could not be successful. If you want the yagya to be completed, then go to Kashi yourself and respectfully bring Maharishi Sudarshan ji with you, only then your yagya will be completed. At the same time, Yudhishthira sent his brother Bheem to call Maharishi ji. Bheem went to Maharishi ji and said, O Sudarshan! Dharmaraj Yudhishthira ji has invited you to have food in the yagya. You come with me now. Hearing this, Maharishi Shri Sudarshan Ji said, O Bheem! I am not the servant of Dharmaraj. If he has any work then he should come to me himself. And tell him-
'Raja Vaishya is a hunter by caste, very inactive and sensual. Whoever eats food at his house, his virtue gets diminished and he goes to hell.
Shodash dosha- Always being in the company of these people, going near them makes one lose his senses. So he told them that you should go, I will not go, brother, I will have food.
That is, one should not eat food at the house of a king, a prostitute, a hunter and a sensual man because such people always have 16 defects. One who eats food at the house of such people, his virtues decrease and his intelligence is destroyed.
Hearing this, the arrogant Bhima thought that this saint is talking like this. If I hit him with a mace, he will go to the netherworld along with the hut. The omniscient Maharishi Shri Sudarshan Ji came to know about this. He again said to Bhima, O Bhima! Take down the Sumirni (rosary) hanging on the peg inside my hut, we are coming, Bhima tried a lot to pick up the rosary, but the rosary did not move even a bit. Seeing this, Maharishi Ji said to Bhima that when you could not pick up my rosary, then how could you send me to the netherworld by hitting me with a mace? Bhima was extremely ashamed after hearing Maharishi Ji's words. He returned and narrated the entire incident to King Yudhishthira and said that the arrogant saint says that I do not eat food at the king's place. Hearing this, Lord Shri Krishna said to Yudhishthira, O Dharmaraj! In the entire world, Maharishi Sudarshan Ji is the only devotee who is selfless and egoless. You go yourself and bring him respectfully. On the advice of Shri Krishna, Dharmaraj Yudhishthir himself went to Kashi and bowed humbly to him with utmost sincerity and first of all asked for forgiveness for his younger brother Bhim's crime of pride and humbly requested him to attend the yagya. The great sage could not remain bound by his rules in front of Yudhishthir's love and agreed to attend the yagya.
He saw the Lord changing the rules due to intense love and he was a devotee of the Lord, why shouldn't he go. After reaching the royal palace, he mixed and ate all kinds of delicious food prepared by Queen Draupadi. Maharishi Sudarshan Ji, who was indifferent to the taste of all kinds of food, mixed all the dishes together because he did not crave for any kind of taste. When he started eating all the dishes mixed together and he had eaten three bites, Queen Draupadi felt disgusted and started thinking that Shri Sudarshan is ignorant. How would he know the taste of food? Knowing what was in Draupadi's mind, Shri Sudarshan Ji pulled his hands away from the food and got up. Maharishi Ji ate only three bites of food, due to which the sky bell rang only three times and did not ring much. King Yudhishthir again got suspicious and wanted to know the reason for this from Shri Krishna again. Then Shri Krishna Ji told that Queen Draupadi felt guilty after seeing Shri Sudarshan eating food, thinking that how does he know how to eat different types of dishes? I made all kinds of extremely delicious dishes and by mixing them together he spoiled the taste. Due to this, Sudarshan Ji stopped eating after knowing what was in her mind. Therefore, you should fall at his feet and apologize for your crime and feed him again.
King Yudhishthira fell at the feet of Shri Sudarshan Ji and said very humbly- 'Maharaj, please forgive my crime, we are blind due to ignorance, do not be fooled by our ignorance, come and eat again. Sudarshan Ji was kind to the king's humility and ate again. As soon as he ate, the celestial bell started ringing on its own, then the yagya was completed and the entire sky reverberated with auspicious sounds and the cheers of sages and saints.
'The devotee of Supancha ate food, the bell rang in the sky. Among the Gandharva deities, Jai Jai was seen.
Shri Krishna had promised Bhima that he would show the superiority of Sudarshan Ji to all of you through your own eyes and only then should you believe. That is why Krishna ordered that all of you who are present here at this time should go to Pushkar Ji, and as per the order, everyone went towards Pushkar Ji. Taking all the people along, King Yudhishthira and Shri Krishna Ji went to Pushkar Tirtha.
Shri Krishna lit 1.25 lakh lamps here. He told Yudhishthir to look at the shadows of people in this water. When they looked, all of them appeared in their natural form i.e. donkey, pig, dog, bull, elephant, horse, animal, predator, insects etc. None of them was in human form. Only Sudarshan Ji Maharaj appeared in human form among them.
Shri Krishna appeared in the form of the true man. When the Pandavas saw with their own eyes that there was no other human being except Sudarshan, they got to know the superiority of Sudarshan ji very well. The natural form of everything was visible in the Pushkar water, because Pushkar lake (located in Ajmer) is the best among all the pilgrimages. It is considered the eye of the earth and that is why Shri Krishna showed all these wonders through the eyes of the earth.
From a spiritual point of view, Maharishi Ji was a great saint of high order.
Who, by his penance, by following the initiation of his revered Guru, by achieving supreme faith and self-surrender, established the highest position among the eighty thousand sages and saints in the Rajsuya Yagna. That is why Yogeshwar Lord Krishna also praised his devotee Maharishi Supancha Sudarshan in the assembly. Maharishi Ji has given us many teachings like we should fear only God and not humans. Those humans who behave with the fear of God are always fearless. Man should not be proud of intellectual strength, physical strength, beauty strength, wealth strength because these are momentary and end soon. Man should not look at anyone with a feeling of inferiority. Man should not remain engaged in the enjoyment of material pleasures of worldly pleasures but should try to attain spiritual bliss. Man should have a charitable attitude and should protect his self-respect at all costs.
