  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1/4 cup milk (as needed)
  • 2-3 tbsp butter (to apply on naan)
  • Water (as required)
  • Chopped coriander leaves (optional)

Method:

  1. Wheat flour plaiting:

    • Place the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
    • Add curd and oil to it and mix it well.
    • Now add milk little by little and knead a soft dough. If needed, you can also use water.
    • Cover the dough and keep it in a warm place for 2 hours so that it swells.
  2. Rolling out the naan:

    • After 2 hours, make small balls of dough.
    • Roll each ball into oval or round shape with the help of a rolling pin dusted with dry flour. Do not roll it too thin.
    • If you want, you can sprinkle some green coriander on top while rolling.
  3. Cooking the Naan:

    • If you are making naan on a pan, then heat the pan.
    • Place the naan on the pan and as soon as bubbles start forming on the top of the naan, flip it over.
    • Now roast the naan directly on the gas flame from the bottom of the pan, so that it puffs up well and gets the tandoori taste. (Keep in mind that the flame should be medium.)
    • Bake the naan well on both sides and take it off the pan.
  4. Applying Butter:

    • Apply butter over the naan and serve it immediately.
  5. Decoration (optional):

    • If you want, you can sprinkle some chopped green coriander on top.

How to serve:

Serve Butter Naan with hot Paneer Curry, Dal Makhani, or any favorite gravy.

Tips:

  • If you have a tandoor or oven, you can bake the naan in the oven at 220°C for 4-5 minutes.
  • To make the naan soft and fluffy, it is important to knead the dough well.

Butter Naan is a delicious and popular Indian bread, especially served at parties and celebrations.
