The West Bengal government will hold an administrative review meeting at the state secretariat on Monday under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in which infrastructure projects and citizen-centric services, especially in rural areas, will be reviewed. Chief Secretary Manoj Pant said in a memorandum issued from the secretariat on Saturday that regular review and monitoring is important for lasting impact and in this regard, an administrative review meeting has been scheduled at Nabanna (state secretariat) at 1 pm on Monday.

It said that due to the parliamentary elections from March to June, by-elections in some districts in June-July 2024 and the Model Code of Conduct being in force, the implementation of many important projects and many public service programs could not proceed at the desired pace.

Some districts are affected by natural calamities

It said that during this period some districts were also affected by natural calamities. It is important that the momentum lost during the period of more than four months is recovered through proactive implementation of projects and programmes and regained without any further delay.

Work with full dedication

The memorandum also stressed that all officers and employees of state government establishments, including semi-government and grant-in-aid institutions, should now concentrate diligently on their assigned tasks.

Violation of service conduct rules

It says that they are expected to perform their duties with utmost dedication, honesty and seriousness during office hours. Any unauthorised absence or failure to perform official duties honestly will be treated as a violation of service conduct rules.
