Washington: US President Joe Biden will meet with British Prime Minister Keir Stormer in Washington next week, in which Ukraine and the war in Gaza, among other issues, are likely to be discussed. Stormer will travel to the US on Friday at a time when Biden is trying to increase his activism on the international stage in the final months of his term.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement that the meeting in the Oval Office will focus on continued Western support for Ukraine as it tries to fend off Russian aggression.
According to Jean-Pierre, the meeting will also discuss a hostage agreement and ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, protecting commercial ships in the Gulf from attacks by Iran-backed Houthi fighters, and common concerns in the Indo-Pacific region.
Stormer had earlier visited Washington in July to attend the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit. During this, he also had bilateral talks with Biden.
