Maharashtra leads the race to attract foreign investments, DPIIT released FDI figures

New Delhi : The Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has released official figures this week regarding foreign investment in the country. According to these figures, it has been found that there has been a tremendous increase in FDI figures in the first quarter of this financial year. It is being told that in this financial year, there has been an increase of about 48 percent in FDI and the overall figure has crossed 16 billion dollars. If we talk about states, then Maharashtra has attracted the highest FDI investment.

Data released by DPIIT has shown that in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 i.e. three months from April to June 2024, Maharashtra has attracted foreign direct investment of Rs 70,795 crore, which is many times more than other states. According to these figures, Maharashtra alone has the largest share of FDI in the entire country, which is 52.46 percent.

So much investment was made last year

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given a statement after the release of DPII figures, in which he has said that in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25, FDI investment of Rs 1,34,959 crore has been made across the country, in which Maharashtra has contributed the highest amount of Rs 70,795 crore i.e. 52.46 percent. Along with this, the Deputy Chief Minister has also told that Maharashtra has been ranked first in this list for the second consecutive time. Last year, FDI investment of Rs 12,35,101 crore was made in Maharashtra, which is more than the combined figures of Gujarat and Karnataka.

This state is behind Maharashtra

According to the data released by DPIIT, Karnataka has been ranked second in terms of FDI investment this financial year. While Delhi has been ranked third in this list, where foreign investment of Rs 10,788 crore has come. Telangana is at fourth place in this list, where FDI investment of Rs 9,023 crore has been made. Gujarat has been at fifth place, where foreign investment of Rs 8,508 crore has been made. A total of Rs 8,325 crore has been made in Tamil Nadu. Also, foreign investment of Rs 5818 crore has been made in Haryana.
