Manav Suthar's seven wickets helped India C beat India D in the Duleep Trophy match

Young left-arm spinner Manav Suthar continued his momentum from the first innings as he claimed seven wickets as India D's innings faltered and India C won the Duleep Trophy match by four wickets here on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 232 runs to win on the third day of the match, India C's top order made useful contributions with the bat. Important knocks by captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (36), Aryan Juyal (47) and Rajat Patidar (44) brought the team close to the target, while Abhishek Porel played an unbeaten innings of 35 runs in the moments of pressure to give the team victory.


India D began the day at 206 for eight, with Axar Patel and Harshit Rana at the crease.

The pair's 30-run partnership was broken by Suthar when he dismissed Akshar (28). He then dismissed Aditya Thackeray (0), ending India D's second innings at 236.

Chasing the target, Gaikwad and Sai Sudarshan (22) gave India C a solid start with a 64-run partnership. Saransh Jain broke the partnership by dismissing Sudarshan and then Gaikwad too was dismissed.

Juyal and Patidar then shared an 88-run partnership for the third wicket to bring the team closer to victory. Jain once again broke the partnership in the match. He dismissed Patidar while soon after that Arshdeep Singh dismissed Juyal.

India C were under pressure after losing six wickets for 191 runs but Porel and Suthar (19 not out) then put on an unbeaten 42-run stand for the seventh wicket to guide the team to victory.

Right-arm offspinner Jain took four wickets for India D.
