Former Indian Cricketer Dinesh Karthik has said that if he had to chose between Joe Root or Virat Kohli to bat for his life, he would opt for Kohli. Recent comparisons between both of them, along with the Fab 4 of world cricket have came out as Root scored his 34th Test century. This slowly left the others behind, especially Kohli at No. 4.

Karthik recently confessed that even though statistics have revealed that Root is the best player, Karthik would pick Kohli as he has seen the player from close quarters.

Dinesh said he would support Kohli to bat for his life as he knows and has seen how Kohli can come out to deliver big performances at crucial moments.

“Numbers will tell you it’s Joe Root, but my heart, the fact that he is someone I’ve seen playing in close quarters for the longest time now, over a decade. I know how he loves playing those big moments and big series. And if somebody asks him questions, he will come to you so strongly that you will be thinking, ‘Wow, why did I even ask that question,” Karthik said.

“If I were given a question of who would bat for my life, it would be Kohli. No doubt,” Karthik said.
