Germany's leading agrochemical company Bayer has taken a big step to promote collaboration, innovation, and environmentally friendly agricultural practices with farmers in India. The company has launched a global initiative 'Forward Farming' in India. Bayer 'Forward Farming' is a global network aimed at demonstrating and promoting sustainable agricultural activities. The company said in a statement that spread over 18 hectares in Panipat, Haryana, Bayer 'Forward Farm' will showcase new agricultural techniques in line with the needs of small farmers in the country.

It said that 'Forward Farm' will focus on direct sowing crop systems in paddy fields, new weed management measures, specially designed agronomic systems, nutrition and water management, vermicompost, irrigation and drone technology, etc.

This initiative will prove to be very important in India.

Natasha S, Head of 'Sustainability and Strategic Engagement' at Bayer, said, "India is an important country in terms of global food security. In such a situation, we are excited to bring Bayer 'Forward Farming' here. By supporting and empowering local farmers, we aim to boost agricultural productivity and environmentally friendly farming and enhance food security for all."

Bayer currently has a network of 29 Forward Farms in 14 countries. The company has partnered with independent farmers under the Forward Farming Network to demonstrate how tailored solutions, modern equipment activities, and partnerships are helping farmers succeed on their farms. Ved Prakash Saini is the first Bayer Forward Farm partner in India.
