'Quad Summit' will be held in America, Biden will be the host, PM Modi will also be present

Washington: Amid speculations about his deteriorating health, US President Joe Biden is going to host the fourth summit of Quad leaders at his Delaware residence next week. The White House gave this information on Thursday. The Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) includes four countries – Australia, India, Japan and the US. India was going to host the Quad this year but now it will host the summit next year.

The White House said that, President of the United States Joe Biden will host the fourth in-person Quad Leaders Summit on September 21 in Wilmington, Delaware. The President looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio of Japan. The next Quad Summit will be hosted by India.

Let us inform you that the Quad Leadership Summit is an initiative of US President Biden and is one of the major traditions to the foreign policy of the outgoing US President. In this regard, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “President Joseph R. Biden Jr. will host the fourth summit of Quad leaders in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday, September 21. The President is looking forward to welcoming Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

“The Quad Leaders Summit will focus on strengthening strategic convergence among our countries, advancing our shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific region, and delivering concrete benefits for partners in the Indo-Pacific in key areas,” Jean-Pierre said in the statement.

He also said, “President Biden will host foreign leaders in Wilmington for the first time – reflecting his deep personal ties with each of the Quad leaders and the importance of the Quad to all of our countries.” He said the Quad foreign ministers have met eight times in recent years and the governments of the Quad countries continue to meet and coordinate at all levels.

Know what is Quad?

Quad i.e. Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) is actually a forum which includes four countries of the world, US, Australia, India and Japan. The main objectives of the Quad are to work for a free, open, prosperous and inclusive Indo Pacific region. The first meeting of this group was held in 2007. At the same time, on 24 May 2022, the Quad Leaders Summit was held in Tokyo, Japan, in which Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated.
