This is the limit

There is no single rule or law in India regarding land ownership. Different states have different rules and laws regarding this. In Kerala, under the Land Amendment Act 1963, an unmarried person can buy only 7.5 acres of land in his name. So, along with this, a family in which five members live, can buy a total of up to 5 acres of land. So, the rules are different in Maharashtra. In Maharashtra, a person who is already doing farming can buy land for farming, in which he can buy only 54 acres of land. In West Bengal, a person can buy only 24.5 acres of land. So, along with this, a limit of 12.5 acres has been fixed for a person in Uttar Pradesh. In Bihar, a person can buy only 15 acres of land for farming and non-farming. In Gujarat, only farmers have the right to buy land for farming.

If you keep more land than the limit

There is no single law regarding property in India. As we told you, there are different laws in different states, different limits have been set there. And this is not only in India but India's neighboring countries Pakistan and Bangladesh also have similar laws. If a person keeps more land in his name than this fixed limit, then he can be sent to jail or some other action can be taken against him.
