Complaints were being received from Dehradun

Actually, there were complaints that liquor shops in Dehradun were charging more money. To know the truth, DM sahab went out to check the shops. (District Magistrate) Savin Bansal drove himself to a shop without any staff and bought liquor by standing in the queue like a normal buyer. He bought a bottle of McDowell's. The fixed price of the bottle was Rs. 660, but the shopkeeper charged him Rs. 680.

After this, DM sahab asked the shopkeeper the reason for charging more money. The shopkeeper could not answer. After this there was a stir. DM sahab ordered that liquor shops in the entire area be raided and it should be checked which shopkeeper is charging more money? Taking immediate action on the instructions of the District Magistrate, raids were started on a large scale.

Sub-district magistrate Hari Giri raided the liquor shop located at Chuna Bhatta, where several irregularities were found. A beer bottle worth Rs 200 was sold to a customer at Rs 210, which was Rs 10 more than the prescribed price.

What irregularities were found?

Apart from this, many other irregularities were found. The opening and closing time was not written on the shop, the employees did not have any identity card, the billing machine was not being used, cutting and fluid were used in the register and the cleanliness system was also not satisfactory.

Earlier, the CM had issued guidelines in this regard. The Excise Department had conducted raids in Haridwar, Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar districts, in which over-rating, illegal sale of liquor and other irregularities were found at many places. Cases were registered against the liquor mafia in this regard.
