Jake Paul told beating legend Mike Tyson will 'feel like a death'

UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock believes that Jake Paul cannot win, no matter the result of his bout with Mike Tyson.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer is set to face Iron Mike on November 15 at the At&T Stadium in Texas. The duo were first meant to meet earlier this year before the bout was postponed when Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up onboard a flight before being deemed medically unfit to compete.

Tyson will step into the ring for the first time since his exhibition bout with Roy Jones Jr four years ago, and almost two decades on from his last professional fight. With 27-year-old Paul racking up a 10-1 record ahead of meeting the ageing boxing legend, the fight has stoked controversy.

Mixed martial artist, and former WWE wrestler Shamrock believes that there is little in the way of a positive outcome for Paul. Despite being appreciative of the ex-Disney star's career, he believes any win over Tyson will leave a sour note.

"Here’s what I say because like I said, I think what Jake Paul and them guys are doing is brilliant, I really do," said Shamrock. "I think them never fighting a contender but making more money than any world championship fight is brilliant. I mean it’s brilliant but this one’s not good. Because Jake Paul can’t win.

“[If Paul] wins, there’s a huge bad taste in the world of boxing. It’s a disappointment to an organization that has loved Mike Tyson. It is like the death of somebody and it should be victorious for Jake Paul and I think on that small group of people that are following, yes, but, in that whole atmosphere of boxing, it’s gonna feel like somebody died."

Shamrock believes that Tyson will need to finish the fight early to come away with victory and complimented Paul on his abilities. The veteran fighter does not want to see Tyson fall to the man 30 years his junior.

“Mike Tyson is not his best, he is not what he used to be, not even half of what he used to be so I’m not betting on it because I know Mike could beat him at half his best because he was that good and he’s got that much power still but the problem remains is whether or not Mike can last long enough to be able to land a punch because if he doesn’t, Jake Paul’s going to beat him because Jake Paul’s a good boxer.

“That’s what I don’t wanna see… And it’s not cause I don’t like Jake Paul, it’s because I love Mike Tyson, I do. I think everything he’s done for boxing and what he’s done in his career, he doesn’t need this,”
