In Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, rural women stopped the DM's car. They stopped the car and put forth their problems before the District Magistrate. They said that they are very troubled by the continuous erosion of the river Ganga. The rural women pleaded with the District Magistrate to save their homes. The DM also understood the plight of the troubled women and got down from the car and listened to them completely.

Due to continuous rain in the hilly areas, the water level of the Ganga river in Mirzapur district of UP had reached dangerous levels. However, now this water level has started decreasing slowly but the villagers are still scared of the danger looming over the houses situated on the banks due to erosion caused by the fast flow of the Ganga. They are afraid that the houses built with so much hard work may get submerged in the Ganga.

Appeal to save home from cutting

Therefore, a dozen women of Bijar Kala village of Sadar tehsil reached the DM to save their homes from erosion and to make arrangements for those whose houses and land have been submerged. They stopped his convoy and requested him for help. When District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan's car left the office, rural women suffering from the erosion of the Ganges river stopped the car in the Collectorate premises. District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan got down from the car and listened to the problems of the rural women and assured to resolve them as soon as possible.

Trouble due to rising water of river Ganga

Rural women said that due to the rising water of the Ganga river, erosion is taking place near the houses. Due to this, they are living in the shadow of fear every day. For the past several days, such cases have been coming to light where entire buildings are being swept away like straws in front of the furious form of the rivers. The villagers are afraid that if the home built with so much hard work is gone, then where will they live and not only the house but their own lives are also in danger.
