Nothing has shared a launch teaser for its a new product later this month. Over the last two weeks, the firm has been teasing the release of a new product while not providing any important information, such as the sort of gadget or its features. Meanwhile, the latest teaser shared by the company claims that the UK startup led by OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei hints at a new wireless audio headset with an open-ear design.

On September 17, Nothing’s X (previously Twitter) account shared a small video of two circular wires bumping into each other. The post also includes the term “out in the open” and confirms that the firm will release a new product on Tuesday, September 24. There is no extra information available, including on the company’s website.

Like the ear loop on the Soundcore AeroFit Pro or Shokz OpenFit Air, the curved components hinted at an open-ear headset. However, there is no news from the firm regarding intentions to release a new set of earphones. Further, according to a listing on the IMDA website, the company may be releasing the Nothing Ear Open soon.

Nothing currently sells a set of fully wireless stereo earphones with an open-ear design. The company’s most recent post includes two hints that raise the possibility that the upcoming product will be its first in the open ear market: the word “open” itself and the portion of the product seen in the short video.

To minimise ear fatigue, open-ear wireless earphones are made to stay farther out of your ear canal than other types of headphones. This allows you to listen to media while staying aware of your surroundings. They do not, however, have the passive seal that conventional in-ear headsets do, which results in sound leakage.

The Nothing Ear Stick, which was released in 2022 but is now discontinued, is the only other True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headset that the company has released without silicone tips. Nevertheless, it was in-ear in design, unlike the Nothing headset that has been speculated as the brand’s first open-ear headphones. We won’t have to wait too long to see the product in flesh and get more details from the company.
