New Delhi: India Post- A fake SMS message has been circulating for the last few days. In this message, the recipients are being asked to update their address details. Now the government has issued a warning regarding this. India Post has given this information by posting on its social account X (formerly Twitter). India Post's alert reads, Scam Alert! Fraudsters are targeting India Post customers. They are claiming problems in delivery. Do not share any personal information with them on any link. Be alert. If you receive any suspicious call, message or email, report it to Chakshu Portal.

Are fraudsters sending fake messages?

According to the TOI report, the fake message reads. Dear India Post customer, we tried to deliver your package but failed. Please call our customer service on 18002666868 or update your information on this link. Once you update your information, we will try to deliver your delivery within 24 hours. Thank you for choosing India Post.

Tips to avoid fake messages
-Be cautious of SMS messages coming from unknown numbers. Especially those in which any personal information or bank-related information is asked. Such as bank account number, password, debit or credit card details, PIN, CVV or any other such information.
-Do not click on any unknown link. This can take you to a fake website, which can steal your personal information. Such links often come on SMS, email or WhatsApp.
-Before responding to any message, check who the sender is.
-If you receive a fake message, complain about it on the Chakshu Portal.
-Create a password that no one else can hack.
