A young man from Bihar has fallen victim to the dark side of online gaming, losing Rs 96 lakh in the process. He borrowed money from others, engaged in fraudulent activities, and even used his B.Tech tuition fees to fund his gaming addiction. Himanshu’s family, devastated by the situation, cut off communication with him. This and the overwhelming debt drove him to attempt suicide. During a live public debate in Delhi’s Connaught Place with News18 anchor Prateek Trivedi, the man shared his heartbreaking story. After the show, Trivedi spoke with his mother, who has now agreed to meet her son.
During a live public debate, when Trivedi asked Himanshu if he wanted to say something, he warned about the dangers of online gaming addiction before sharing his painful journey. “I am in Rs 96 lakh debt. My mom is a teacher and she doesn’t want to talk to me,” he revealed.

He continued, “None of my family members is talking to me. Even if something happens to me, they won’t come and see me.”

With raw honesty, he admitted, “I borrowed money from people, committed fraud, and even used my B. Tech tuition fees to feed my gaming addiction.”

Moved by his story, Trivedi asked Himanshu to hug him.

Himanshu then shared that he had qualified for JEE Mains but was unable to attend college because he had gambled away his B.Tech fees.

“My family has completely distanced themselves from me. My brother is a good person, but he doesn’t want to talk to me. I haven’t even been able to see my niece. This addiction has ruined everything,” he tearfully recounted.
