Australia’s right-arm seamer Josh Hazelwood revealed the game plan his side would use for players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the next Border-Gavaskar series 2024–25 against India. Hazelwood addressed Star Sports in her speech.

On November 22, Australia and India will play their first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series in Perth.

India has taken back the lead in the series against Australia over time. India has won the last four series it has played against Australia, including two victories there in the 2018-19 and 2020-21 campaigns.

Due to this, India has been much more successful than Australia in the series, with India winning the BGT ten times to Australia’s five. Australia’s last series victory was in the 2014–15 campaign. They hadn’t won a series in India since 2004–05.

The 33-year-old batsman said in an interview with Star Sports that the squad would be concentrating on the young players who haven’t played many Test matches yet.

“It’s likely that the approach is centered more against the younger players, such as Shubman Gill and Jaiswal, against whom we haven’t played much Test cricket. We know what to do since we’ve played against players like Virat, Rohit, and others for years. There aren’t many changes to the plan. It’s about executing the fundamentals correctly and consistently over time. Nine times out of ten, we find that Test cricket typically returns to that Plan A. The fast bowler said at Star Sports, “Most of the time, it’s about executing that plan. You adjust to conditions and change things throughout the day or innings.”

The thrilling day-night format will be present in the second Test, which is slated to take place at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10, under the stadium’s lights. Following that, supporters will focus on The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test, which is scheduled for December 14–18.

The series will reach its concluding stage with the traditional Boxing Day Test, which is scheduled for December 26 to 30 at Melbourne’s illustrious Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The series finale, the fifth and final Test, which is scheduled to take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promises to be a spectacular way to end a thrilling match.
