Rathour rejoins Rahul Dravid on the Rajasthan Royals support staff. Rathour and Dravid were key members of the Indian cricket squad, as they helped the team win the T20 World Cup in June of this year.

Former opening batsman Rathour represented India in six Test matches and seven One-Day Internationals. His career in the Indian domestic setup was successful, as shown by his 33 first-class centuries.

He served as a member of the support staff for the Indian cricket team from 2019 till the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The Rajasthan Royals expressed their happiness at “reigniting a successful partnership,” alluding to Rathour and Dravid’s collaboration with the Indian squad. “Rathour, an experienced cricket professional, became a part of the Royals coaching staff soon after Rahul Dravid was reinstated as head coach. In their time together, the two teams helped India rise to the top of the rankings in all three formats and win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 earlier this year. “It will reignite a successful partnership,” the franchise said in a statement.

Head coach of the Rajasthan Royals Dravid expressed his happiness at working with him again. Having spent several years working directly with Vikram, I can state with confidence that the Royals would benefit much from his technical proficiency, composed temperament, and in-depth knowledge of Indian circumstances. We’ve developed a great relationship together and helped lead India to significant achievements, so I’m excited to work with him again. We want to further bolster our roster and keep constructing a world-class club here at the Rajasthan Royals, and his ability to develop young talent and raise players’ potential will be vital,” Dravid said.

Rathour, on his part, expressed gratitude for being a member of the Rajasthan Royals and expressed excitement about collaborating with Dravid once again. Being a member of the royal family is an honor. It’s a very thrilling prospect to collaborate with Rahul once again, this time with a young, promising cricket team. The batting coach said, “I’m excited to support the team’s mission and work toward our goal of producing elite players for the Royals and for India who can help win championships.”
