Rice is used as a staple food in some states of the country. But there is often a concern about rice that it increases weight and diabetics should not eat it. But does eating rice really harm diabetics?

Which rice is best for you?

Brown rice is often considered more 'healthy'. Shashtishali i.e. rice that is ready in 60 days is considered best for us. Along with this, Rakshali rice i.e. red colored rice is also considered very good and healthy for health. Nowadays many types of rice are available in shops, but always remember, the rice that grows in the soil around you is the best for you.

Rice is harmful for health!

Only rice that is at least 1 year old is edible. Eating fresh rice immediately is not considered good for health. Its specialty is that when you break a grain of rice in your hand, it breaks quickly. This is new rice. Whatever rice you use, it should be less polished.

The right way to cook rice

– First of all, wash the rice with water at least 2-3 times. Wash the rice gently so that it does not break. Also, after washing the rice, if there is any powder or dust on it, it should be removed.

Wash the rice and keep it aside for 15 to 20 minutes

After the first discharge, you can drink the water that comes out the second or third time. This is called tandulodak. Women should drink this medicine with water if they have a problem of white discharge. – Wash the rice and keep it for 15 to 20 minutes and then cook it. – Take a teaspoon of ghee in a large vessel. Add cumin seeds, 2 or 3 cloves and black pepper. You can also add a small piece of cinnamon.

Rice should be cooked without covering it

– Now add water to the rice. You should add some more water to the rice, so that the starch can be removed later. – Now add rock salt to it and cook the rice without covering it. When the rice is completely cooked from inside and becomes soft from outside i.e. the rice is 90% cooked, turn off the gas and drain the water.

Benefits of separating starch from rice

– Now when the water is drained from the rice, keep the vessel on very low flame for 2 minutes and this time cover the rice and cook it. Turn off the gas after 2 minutes. Your rice will be ready to eat. On the other hand, when rice is cooked in a cooker, it becomes sticky and this rice harms diabetic patients. The biggest benefit of separating starch from rice is that it reduces carbohydrates and reduces the glycemic index of rice.
