There are also 9,99,715 (35%) diesel cars, but their sales are continuously declining. 9 out of every 10 cars sold here are electric vehicles. In August, 94.3% of the new cars were electric, which is a new record.

The government helped on a large scale in this regard. The government offered incentives to people to switch to electric vehicles. Sales tax exemption was given on purchase of electric vehicles. Exemption from many tolls imposed in the city. You can avail free parking.

Charging stations are available free of cost in the country. Oslo has 2,000 free charging stations. Norway provided these facilities on a large scale. Norway is one of the largest exporters of oil.
