District police are getting ready to examine the hostel warden and other students after the suicide of a student at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna one day earlier.

Pallavi Reddy, an Andhra Pradesh native and second-year NIT Patna student studying computer electronics, was discovered hanging from her hostel’s ceiling fan on Friday night. The event was reported to the victim’s family by the district police.

According to Sharat R. S., the City SP of Patna West, the district police learned of a student’s suicide at the NIT campus hostel at about 10.30 p.m.

“Our crew was there right away and removed the deceased person. For the autopsy, the police transported the corpse to the ESIC hospital in Bihta. We’re looking at the issue from every viewpoint,” Sharat R. S. said.

“We contacted the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team after the event, and they gathered evidence, including the victim’s cell phone. The evidence has been taken for further examination. The victim’s hostel has also been shut, according to the SP.

District authorities are looking into how the event happened. Determining the reason for Reddy’s drastic action is of special interest to the investigators.

In order to get information, authorities want to speak with other students and the hostel warden. They also hope that the victim’s phone logs may provide some insight into the case.

Many students gathered at the NIT campus to protest after the event and called for a thorough inquiry. To preserve peace and order, the police have sent out more troops.

The victim was a brilliant student who acted normally the day before the incident on Friday, according to classmates.
