The recent spate of poor scores by Virat Kohli has worried Indian cricket fans. In the current Test match in Chennai between Bangladesh and India, Kohli found it difficult to convert his strong starts into substantial runs in both innings.
Kohli still has a great devotion to the team in spite of this. He was removed for a poor score in the first inning, but in the second, during the tea break, he was seen working out in the nets.

His commitment to raising his level even in the middle of a match demonstrates his competitive nature.

Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill grabbed the show as Kohli labored, scoring double hundreds to give India a dominating lead. With unwavering confidence, both batters handled the Bangladeshi bowlers with ease. Together, they not only steadied India’s innings but also laid a solid basis for the side’s supremacy in Test matches.

Day three saw India resume at 81/3, their dominance continuing as Shubman Gill (119 not out) and Rishabh Pant (109) completed their hundreds with outstanding batting.

After a terrifying vehicle accident in December 2022, Pant took 634 days to return to Test cricket. During that time, he displayed his signature strokeplay and reached his sixth Test century in only 124 balls.

By doing this, he also tied the record for the most hundreds by an Indian wicketkeeper held by the kind former captain MS Dhoni.

After Pant was dismissed for a brilliant 109 (128b; 13×4, 4×6), Gill completed his sixth century in Test matches, needing 161 balls to do so. Throughout his innings, Gill faced 176 balls and smashed 10 shots to the fence and four over it.

India eventually gave up at 287/4 in their second innings, giving Bangladesh a daunting 515 runs to win the first Test on Saturday.
