Since the 90s, Claudia Winkleman has been a staple on a string of well-known television shows, from Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC series Holiday, and God's Gift, Pyjama Party and most recently The Traitors.

Over the decades, the 52-year-old has become a household name for her TV and radio career, along with her recognisable glossy bob and smokey-eyed makeup.

However, away from the spotlight, Claudia seems to keep a low profile while remaining private about her family life.

With Claudia preparing to grace screens once again with the new series of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, Express.co.uk has taken a deep dive into her life when the cameras stop rolling.

Many fans of the BBC star won't realise she's got a royal in the family as her half-sister married into the monarchy.

Claudia's sibling Sophie Winkleman, who shares the same father as her, married Lord Frederick Windsor in 2009. Lord Frederick is the son of the late Queen Elizabeth's cousin, Prince Michael of Kent.

Although she's not classed as a working royal, Sophie inherited the title of Lady Frederick Windsor when they wed. She often attends many royal events and was seen laughing and smiling alongside King Charles at Royal Ascot last year.

Claudia's sister has also appeared on the Buckingham Palace balcony over the years and was spotted next to Kate Middleton. However, despite the Strictly star having royal connections, Sophie confessed they have separate lives.

Speaking to Tatler last year, she said: "We had very separate lives as kids: Claudia lived with her mum and she's nine years older than me."

Although it seems as though she's close to her husband's royal family members, describing the King as a "very dear friend".

Despite not being close to her half-sister, Claudia often takes her husband with her to red-carpet events. The 52-year-old met her partner, Kris Thykier through mutual friends and tied the knot back in 2000.

Claudia isn't the only famous person in their marriage as Kris is a well-known producer in the film and television industry. He's worked on the likes of Kick-Ass, Tolkien, Stardust, Idris Elba's Hijack and Netflix's Fate: The Winx Saga.

The duo share three children together, Jake, Matilda and Arthur who Claudia keeps out of the public eye. There are a few rare snaps she's shared on her social media of them with their backs to the camera.

Speaking about her marriage in an article with Red magazine a few years ago, she said: "He's never once said to me, 'What's for dinner?'. It's always been, 'What shall we have for dinner?', So we share, and when one of us is snowed under, the other person will help."

Claudia and her family live in a swanky London Grade II-listed townhouse near Marble Arch.

According to Hello! The lavish pad is believed to have cost around £3 million when she bought the home before 2010.

Although she keeps her children away from her socials, the TV star often gives glimpses inside her home on social media.

One room she's often seen in features a huge bookcase stacked with various books. Various snippets reveal a stylishly Scandi interior with panelling on the walls and a swanky kitchen island.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 7pm.
