After a dogged display from Bangladesh's opening duo in the second innings, India needed a special fielding effort from Yashasvi Jaiswal to break the partnership.

In the second session on Day 3 of the first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, September 21, Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam showed a lot of resilience as the tourists were chasing a daunting 515-run target in the fourth innings. However, the former was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah after scoring 33 off 47 deliveries as Jaiswal's sharp reflexes mesmerised the cricket fraternity.

Bumrah bowled a full delivery outside off-stump and lured Hasan into the drive. The southpaw got an outside-edge that flew towards Jaiswal at gully. It seemed that the 22-year-old had seen the ball late but he maintained a strong base and stretched out his left hand to catch the ball inches above the ground. The Indian players were cock-a-whoop as they had seen a special catch from one of the best slip fielders in the current squad. India's best fielder, Ravindra Jadeja, was the first player who went to Jaiswal to celebrate the wicket.

Ravichandran Ashwin scored a spectacular century in India's first innings to bail his team out of a precarious situation. However, he went wicketless in Bangladesh's first innings, with the other bowlers dismantling the visitors.

In the second innings, however, Ashwin didn't take too much time to open his account as he struck in his eighth over, picking up the wicket of Shadman Islam for a 68-ball 35. The left-handed batter tried to flick away a delivery off his legs but the ball arrived slowly off the pitch and induced a leading edge that was taken by Shubman Gill at mid-wicket.
