Home Department Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary gave an update on the development works to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He informed that land related issues are being resolved through continuous monitoring through Bhu-Samadhan Portal, which is reducing land disputes. Earlier, 60 percent of the murders were due to land disputes. Now it has come down to 46.69 percent. Various proposals related to the Home Department were also discussed in the meeting.

During this, the Chief Minister instructed that law and order is the top priority of the government. Do not show any laxity in crime control. Do not show any negligence in patrolling, intensify night patrolling. Do surprise inspections. Work diligently in maintaining law and order. The Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken against the police who show negligence.

Complete 35% reservation for women

The Chief Minister said that 2,29,139 posts have been approved in various categories to increase the number of Bihar Police. 1,06,436 policemen are working. Fill the remaining vacant posts soon. Police has an important role in maintaining law and order. The recruitment of police on the remaining posts as soon as possible will help in maintaining law and order. We have made a provision of 35 percent reservation for women in the police since 2013. Right now the number of women in Bihar Police has reached about 30 thousand. The participation of women in Bihar Police is the highest in the country. He said that the vacancies on the 35 percent reserved seats for women in police recruitment should be filled soon.

The benefits of increasing women's participation

The Chief Minister said that due to the increase in the number of women in the police force, the women who come to the police stations with complaints are getting convenience in resolving their problems and their confidence is increasing. Keeping in mind the facilities of women officers and women police personnel, separate arrangements have been made. Since coming to power in the year 2005, we have done development work in all areas. Along with educating women, many works have also been done to make them self-reliant.

Crimes related to land disputes should be reduced

He said that women have become educated and self-reliant, which has brought about a positive change in society and family. The Chief Minister said that more than 60 percent of murders happen due to land disputes, which is now decreasing. It has been informed that it has increased to 46.69 percent, which is a good thing. He said that the work of land survey and settlement should be completed quickly so that the incidents of crime related to land disputes can be completely reduced. The administration and police should keep a close watch on anti-social elements.
