Now after receiving success as a producer, Karan is all set to slip into the shoes of a director. As per reports, the shoot of the series will begin in early 2025.
As per a source quoted by Pinkvilla, "After collaborating with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on HeeraMandi, this Karan Johar directorial is the next marquee project in Netflix's repertoire. Karan will be the showrunner for this yet-untitled web series. The script is locked and the vision is to take it on the floor in the first quarter of 2025."
"The web series now begins its casting stage and the idea is to bring together an ensemble of renowned actors. Being a Karan Johar show, the web series is considered to be Netflix's most ambitious upcoming project. It will be shot throughout 2025 and is set to stream in 2026," the source added.
On the other hand, Karan Johar has been gearing up for the release of Jigra. It has been co-produced by Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt. The actress will be the main lead in the film. Jigra also stars Vedang Raina, Aditya Nanda, Yuvraj Vijan, Jason Shah and Harssh Singh in key roles. The action thriller movie is all set to release in theatres on October 11, 2024. It has been directed by Vasan Bala.
Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina have recently appeared in the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The first episode was premiered on Netflix on September 21, 2024.
