A decent guy, Despite dominating, Lyon was unable to record a point.

Geronimo Rulli blocked Lacazette’s 12-yard attempt, and the Lyon captain was forced to blast the rebound over the crossbar by the forceful following-in defense.

Excellent effort by Clinton Mata to win the ball and throw in a precise cross on the right side set up Caleta-Car for a header in the 53rd minute.

Though they had substituted out strikers Amine Harit and Elye Wahi, Marseille responded in the 69th minute when replacement defender Lirola calmly finished a one-on-one against Lucas Perri.

Cherki, however, seemed to guarantee Pierre Sage’s side would share the spoils by bundling in a cross at the near post, but the drama was far from over.

Then, when he cut past two defenders and surged forward from the left flank, Rowe stole the show for Marseille, slamming the ball across Perri and inside the far post.
