We’ve all heard “rags to riches” tales from athletes, but none can compare to this one, as he dominated T20 and international cricket, as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL), for almost ten years. He went from growing up in the slums to now living in a lavish property worth Rs 20 crore that has a restaurant within!

We are discussing the life narrative of “Universe Boss” Chris Gayle, who turned 45 this week and broke several records throughout his IPL and international careers. Few people are aware of Gayle’s modest beginnings, which took place in the Rollington Town slums on the outskirts of Kingston, Jamaica, and around one mile west of Sabina Park, the home of the famed Windies.

The home that reared Gayle and her four siblings still stands and seems just as it did many years ago. a one-story home composed of blocks, with concrete lumps supporting the corrugated zinc roof and wooden planks or billowing curtains serving as windows. In 103 Test matches, Gayle played for the West Indies and amassed 7,214 runs, 15 hundreds, and 37 fifties, with a best score of 333. In 301 ODI matches, he participated and amassed 10,480 runs, 25 hundreds, and 54 fifties, with a best score of 215. Gayle scored 1,899 runs with two hundreds and fourteen fifties in 79 Twenty20 internationals.

Gayle participated in three IPL seasons: one with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), seven with the Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Virat Kohli, and four with the Punjab Kings, now known as Kings XI Punjab, captained by Shikhar Dhawan. In the IPL, he amassed 4,965 runs at a strike rate of 148.96, with six hundred and thirty-one fifties.

Gayle now resides in a three-story mansion in Kingston, Jamaica, which is said to be worth more than Rs 20 crore. There are many swimming pools, a bar, a sports area, and a gaming area inside Gayle’s opulent residence.

Additionally, there is a little theater inside where the cricket player likes entertaining family and friends. The cricket player Gayle has acknowledged that her nine-bedroom property has a strip club!

2009 saw Gayle’s marriage to Caribbean fashion designer Natasha Berridge, who resides with his wife and daughter Kris-Allyna Gayle.
