The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) “should learn professionalism” from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), according to former cricket player Kamran Akmal.

India easily won the first Test match between Bangladesh and India in Chennai by a margin of 280 runs. A few weeks before, Bangladesh defeated Pakistan 2-0 in a series that was almost identical in setup.

If everything was going according to plan, Kamran said, Pakistan’s cricket wouldn’t be struggling, and he blasted PCB for their lack of “professionalism.”.

“PCB should take a cue from BCCI about their professionalism, team, captain, selector, and coaches. These are the attributes that elevate a team to the top and help them rule the globe. There wouldn’t be Pakistan cricket here if we were so excellent. Pakistan cricket is suffering due to your ego, Kamran said on his YouTube channel.

The instability that Pakistan has been in for the last several years has been brought to light by their recent Test series loss against Bangladesh.

The team captained by Babar Azam was devastated by Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final in 2022. Pakistan was eliminated from the Super 4 stage in the tournament’s subsequent iteration, which took place the previous year.

A few months later, Pakistan’s decline continued as they were eliminated in the group round of the ODI World Cup 2023.

There was a tsunami of adjustments that rocked Pakistan’s setup after the series ended. Shaheen Shah Afridi became the leader when Babar stepped down. He was back in charge of the white-ball team months ahead of the T20 World Cup, although Shan Masood continued to lead the Test team.

Pakistan lost to Ireland and England in T20I at this time, while they were humiliated in a Test series in Australia.

Pakistan suffered another defeat in the T20 World Cup after losing a thrilling Super Over match against the co-hosts, the USA. After that, Babar’s team lost against India, confirming their elimination from the group round.

In response to the string of disappointments, Pakistan Cricket Board (PBCB) said on Monday that it will be holding a high-level Connection Camp with the goal of creating a coherent and distinct vision for the sport’s future.

Nine Pakistani cricket players—Babar, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Shan Masood—will be present in the camp.

During the camp, Pakistan’s head coach for red balls, Jason Gillespie, head coach for white balls, assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, and high performance specialist David Reid will be in attendance.
