Actress Twinkle Khanna, the beloved daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia and wife of Akshay Kumar, has been away from the film world for a long time. Recently, in a column written in a newspaper, Twinkle revealed that she would have liked to see Hema Malini as her mother instead of Dimple Kapadia.
Twinkle Khanna spoke openly about noise pollution, water logging and potholes in a recent column for the Times of India. The actress told how the sound of water dripping from her purifier reminds her of 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini. She said that no one is more concerned about providing clean water in India than Hema Malini.
Twinkle Khanna wrote in her article, “After selling water purifiers for years, now she is organizing a play to spread the message of keeping our rivers clean, this will make the people of the country aware and will help in keeping the rivers clean, but will the people of the country listen to her appeal? It does not matter how much money is spent on building roads, if we cannot stop people from 'spitting paan on street corners and killing people due to religious differences'.”
Actress Twinkle compared her mother Dimple Kapadia to Hema Malini and said, "When I call my mother to complain about dirty water, air, pollution and roads, she says that the noise that happens during Ganpati Visarjan is more noisy than the noise you are making on the call now. Saying this, my mother disconnected the call." Twinkle laughingly said that my mother is not interested in what I say, so sometimes I wish Hema Malini was my mother.
Twinkle Khanna further wrote, "No one in the country is more interested in providing clean water to India than Hema ji." Twinkle told about her mother Dimple Kapadia that she does not like pets. Apart from this, she does not have any problem with the way people spread garbage on the streets and keep spitting paan on the roadside.
Further, Twinkle jokingly wrote, "This is not the first time I have wished that Hema Malini was my mother.
