The case of sexual abuse of two girls in a reputed private school in Badlapur, Thane, Maharashtra shook people. Now another big news has come out in this case. Late on Monday evening, the main accused in the case, Akshay Shinde, died. The accused suddenly opened fire on the police, after which he was shot in retaliatory firing. He was taken to the hospital in a seriously injured state but he died during treatment. After this case came to light, people were angry and expected immediate justice. This was a case in which the public was not only angry with words but also turned to the railway station and roads to protest and demand quick action against the accused.

It was obvious that this was a place where parents send their children thinking that their children will be safe here, but when such brutality against girls was exposed even in the temple of education, people's blood boiled. They did not just show their anger by posting on social media but the whole of Badlapur came down to the local railway station and started demanding punishment for the culprits. Who would not remember the pictures of that day when the whole city sat on the tracks of Badlapur station. Be it old, young, woman or child... everyone left their work and insisted on getting justice for the innocent.

What was the matter?

On August 13, 2024, a case of sexual assault on two nursery girls came to light in a school in Badlapur. What was even more horrifying in the case was that the perpetrator of the incident was a cleaning worker working in the school. He made the girls victims of his dirty intentions in the school toilet itself. On August 16, one of the girls weepingly told her parents about this heinous incident that happened to her, and the parents were shocked. The accused Akshay was arrested on August 17. A case was registered against him under several sections including POCSO.

'Grandpa took off my clothes'

There was another thing in this case which forced the parents to think. Actually, the matter was revealed when suddenly one day the girl refused to go to school. When the parents asked the reason several times, the girl told them that when she went to use the toilet in school, the accused who was cleaning there touched her private part. The girl allegedly told her parents, "Dada (a word used for brother in Marathi) took off my clothes and touched my private part." The girl was so nervous that she was not able to fully explain to the parents what had happened to her. After this, the girl told that this has not only happened to her but it has been done to her friend as well. Hearing this, the girl's parents, without wasting any time, called the parents of the other girl and told them everything. The parents of the other girl were also shaken after hearing this, then when they asked their innocent daughter, she also revealed the reason for not going to school. It is shocking in itself that the girls are so young that they do not even know what has been done to them. As soon as the incident came to light, the parents of both the girls first went to the doctor.

When the doctor examined the girls, he too got goosebumps. These innocent girls studying in nursery class were made victims of brutality. Both were sexually assaulted. The parents did not waste time and immediately went to the police station, but here their plea was not heard properly. The parents of the girls alleged that the police took 12 hours to register their complaint in the police station. However, after this an FIR was registered and the police investigation revealed that the school was also being very negligent in the safety of the children.

The whole city came out on the streets

The school administration, which considers itself among the most prestigious schools, did not pay any attention to the fact that the CCTV cameras installed in this school with world class facilities are completely faulty, which was taken advantage of by a monster like Akshay. When the parents raised the question, the school administration woke up in a hurry and the principal, class teacher and a female employee were suspended in the case. Naturally, the anger of the parents did not calm down here. The matter came to light on social media and after that the whole country saw a city coming out on the streets to plead for justice for the girls. The whole city left all its work and sat on the tracks of Badlapur railway station and said in one voice while protesting that we will not move until the girls get justice. People came out on the streets.

Angry mob vandalized the school

After the incident of sexual abuse came to light, a crowd of thousands descended on the railway track, after which stone pelting started. On August 20, the crowd first vandalized the school and then demonstrated at Badlapur station from 8 am to 6 pm, the pictures and videos of which also went viral on social media. The movement of local trains was affected for more than 10 hours when people descended on the railway track. Seeing so much anger, Minister Girish Mahajan himself came to the railway station. He requested the protesters to end the agitation. Girish Mahajan appealed that the accused would be given severe punishment, but still the protesters did not move from there. After this, the police finally had to lathi-charge the protesters, after which the crowd dispersed. Maha Vikas Aghadi also supported this protest and called for Maharashtra Bandh on August 24, and this fire spread throughout the city in no time. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered the Thane Police Commissioner to immediately suspend three personnel including the Senior Inspector of Badlapur Police Station for delaying action in this matter. The situation became such that internet service had to be stopped in the area.

Akshay was killed in a police encounter

Taking immediate cognizance of the case, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde discussed the entire matter with the state's Education Minister Deepak Kesarkar and ordered immediate action. CM Eknath Shinde also ordered to run this case in a fast track court along with taking concrete steps to prevent such cases in future. The Chief Minister said that if the school management is at fault, action will also be taken against them. Almost a month had passed in the case and today the news came that the accused Akshay, who had brutalized the innocents, was killed in an encounter by the police. Today, somewhere or the other, every person who believes in the system has become convinced that justice is done, even if delayed. The kind of incident that was committed by a brutal man like Akshay, he got his punishment and the girls finally got justice.
