Before the announcement of assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Eknath Shinde government took several big decisions on Monday. In its decisions, the government has made every effort to appease Brahmins and Rajputs as well. The government has announced to form a Maha Mandal for OBC Brahmins and Rajputs. A proposal for this was also sent to the cabinet. Apart from this, a big gift has also been given to the Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch. A big announcement has also been made regarding farmers.
The cabinet has taken many such decisions which are very important in terms of elections. In this meeting, six demands have been approved under the Rural Development Department. Mainly, it was decided to double the salary of Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch in the state. The government said that the salary of the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat whose population is up to 2000 will be increased from Rs 3000 to Rs 6000, while the salary of the Deputy will be increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 2000.
The salary of the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat whose population is between 2000 and 8000 has been increased from Rs. 4000 to Rs. 8000. The salary of the Deputy Sarpanch has been increased from Rs. 1500 to Rs. 3000. In the Gram Panchayats whose population is more than 8000, the salary of the Sarpanch has been increased from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 10000. Whereas it has been decided to increase the salary of the Deputy Sarpanch from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 4000. This salary hike will put a financial burden of Rs. 116 crore annually on the state government.
Along with this, the state cabinet has also approved to merge the posts of Gram Sevak and Gram Vikas Adhikari into one post. For the past few days, there was a constant demand that the posts of Gram Sevak and Gram Vikas Adhikari should be the same. Finally, today the cabinet has approved the appointment of Gram Sevak and Gram Vikas Adhikari working in the state on the same post.
Also, the Rural Development Department has decided to get the Gram Panchayats in the state to get development works of up to 15 lakhs done as Gram Panchayat Agency. With this decision, Gram Panchayats with an annual income of up to 75 thousand will be able to get works of up to 10 lakhs done as Gram Panchayat Agency. Those Gram Panchayats whose annual income is more than 75 thousand, those Gram Panchayats can get works of up to 15 lakh rupees done as Gram Panchayat Agency. While implementing this decision, it will be mandatory to adopt e-tendering system for works above 10 lakhs.
