Akshay Shinde, the brutal accused of Badlapur rape case, was killed in an encounter. He had snatched the revolver from the police and opened fire. One officer was also injured.

A big news has come from Badlapur in Maharashtra. The main accused in the Badlapur rape case that shook the whole country suddenly opened fire on the police, where the accused Akshay died in the retaliatory firing by the police. Akshay was seriously injured in the firing, after which he died during treatment on reaching the hospital. When the police was taking Akshay Shinde, the accused in the rape case, from the jail to somewhere, Akshay took out the revolver of the policeman in the jeep and fired three rounds at the policemen. During this time, the policemen also fired in which the rape accused Akshay Shinde was shot. Both Akshay and the policeman were shot in this firing, after which Akshay died.

Recently, a sensational and heart-wrenching case of molestation of an innocent child came to light in a school in Badlapur, Maharashtra. After this case came to light, people came out on the streets in Badlapur. There was protest against this molestation everywhere. Maha Vikas Aghadi also supported this protest and called for Maharashtra Bandh on 24th August.

Case of sexual harassment of girls

On August 13, 2024, a case of sexual harassment of two girls came to light in a school in Badlapur. In this case, Akshay Shinde, a cleaning worker of the school, was accused and the police arrested him. There was anger among the people in this case and there was a huge uproar at Badlapur railway station. After the incident of sexual abuse came to light, a crowd of thousands descended on the railway track of the local train here, after which the incident of stone pelting came to light. On August 20, the crowd first vandalized the school and then demonstrated at Badlapur station from 8 am to 6 pm, the pictures and videos of which also went viral on social media. The movement of local trains was halted for more than 10 hours when people descended on the railway track. In the evening, the police lathi-charged and cleared the railway track.

Train service was halted for nine hours

Despite repeated requests by the police at Badalpur railway station, the protesters were not ready to end their agitation. The protesters kept the train service closed for about nine hours. Minister Girish Mahajan himself came to the railway station. He requested the protesters to end the agitation. Girish Mahajan appealed that the accused would be given severe punishment, but even then the protesters did not leave from there. After this, the police finally had to lathi-charge the protesters.

Shinde government took swift action

After the case came to light and there was outrage among the people, immediate action was taken in the case. The concerned headmistress of the school was suspended. Also, two servants who were taking care of the children were also dismissed. Apart from this, police inspectors were even transferred for not registering the case after the complaint in the police station, and orders were given to take strict action against the institute managers. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had announced that strict action would be taken against the accused and ordered immediate trial in the fast track court.
