During a podcast with Cricket.com, Vaughan and the renowned Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist had to picture Dhoni, Rohit, and Kohli in the same IPL squad.

Vaughan said that he would definitely play Dhoni and name him team captain.

“My character is MS Dhoni. Nobody has, in my opinion, been better. No, Virat is unable to locate a spot. The captain is MS. Vaughan said, “He’s playing,” during his podcast speech.

Dhoni is the most capped player in the IPL with 264 games, and he also holds the record for most dismissals as a keeper.

“What else was there? selling? I’m letting Virat go. The reason I’m getting rid of him is because he has never won an IPL. Rohit has won six times. How many MS? Five! I thus play MS and market Virat. Which other one was it? Yes, so Rohit will be my stand-in for MS,” Vaughan said.

Despite playing every season since 2008 for the same team, Kohli is the only cricket player in IPL history to have not yet won the competition.

“I can get a substantial sum of money for him (Kohli). If you give him a lot of money, he’ll go someplace else. It’s smart business, Vaughan said.

Although he acknowledged that the three greats of the game would be affected negatively by whatever decision, Gilchrist agreed with the former England captain.

That (by Vaughan) is thoughtfully done. It’s hard work; you’re separating hairs, but that’s what a manager does, right?” Gilchrist said.
